There is a new twist on sky diving that looks as stunning and frightening as any thrill seeker could want. This type of sky diving uses a type of glider suit that creates a batman look, but allows the sky diver to glide down the face of a mountain while still remaining in the air. This kind of sky diving is considered the ultimate in extreme sky diving sports.
Tamer versions of sky diving are not quite as spectacular, but a whole lot safer. Rather than hire a helicopter to take you to the summit of a 15,000 foot mountain and glide down it at 100 miles an hour or more, going on a local sky diving adventure can be done just abut anywhere, even in the deserts of Arizona and Nevada with the promise of a thrilling challenge to not land in a cactus patch.
Some people wait until their golden years to experience their first sky diving jump. It may be one way to assure oneself of a long life, but for those who adopt the sport as theirs, sky diving does not necessarily have a high mortality rate associated with it. Alaskan fishermen and sky divers have the same mortality rate, so if jumping from air planes doesn't bother you half as much as being on a fishing boat, go for it!
