I'm on an adventure quest! Take me white water rafting or sky diving, I'm up for it! There's a whole world out there brimming with places to explore and venues to investigate. An adventure quest is definitely in store. What challenge do you dream of conquering? This past summer I embarked on a venture I have never attempted before. I climbed my own Mount Everest, of sorts. It started out with a rigorous hike through tract-less bush, fording streams many times until we reached the foot of the mountain, then it was more bush whacking up the mountain until we finally left the tree line and came out into a beautiful alpine meadow. Then it was pretty much vertical until we reached the cavern entrances at the top of the mountain. To continue with the story of my own adventure quest, we then went deep into the mountain and rappelled our way down inside the mountain. It was quite a challenge, and I had to draw on every last ounce of reserve to get the courage to continue until we reached the exit. As we exited the caverns (these are wild caves--not commercial ones) we were faced with a beautiful vista on the edge of a sheer drop of over a thousand feet--the perfect place for base jumping (a form of skydiving without the aircraft). Now that I'm an amateur spelunker, I can add that accomplishment to my white water rafting experience, and check them off my list of lifetime wishes. My own adventure quest was frightening, but fulfilling.
