sky divingsky diving I dated a guy who was seriously into extreme sports like sky diving and hang gliding. One weekend he took me hang gliding. I will never forget the experience. First of all, hang gliders jump off cliffs and steep mountain tops, which means that you have to get there in a vehicle. He chose a steep cliff to jump from, and the grade getting to the top was the most frightening experience I have ever had. This road was so steep; I think the grade was 10% or so, and the road was narrow, riddled with boulders and pot holes, followed the cliff's edge. I thought I would not make it through the day, much less to the top and back down again. Being physically fit, I seriously considered walking up and down instead of being in that vehicle that I imagined crashing at any moment to the canyon floor below.

Then he wanted me to go sky diving with him about a month later. I did this, although I did not jump. The plane ride was fine, though, and if I had to choose between hang gliding and sky diving, I would definitely take sky diving, simply because you take off and land on flat ground in aircraft that has to be certified as safe by the FAA.
