One of my fascinations is how people climb Mount Everest. It is the most hostile environment on earth where people stay for months, and other than the snow, there is virtually nothing that supports human life on this mountain's higher elevations. The tree line on Mount Everest is at 13,000 feet, so staying warm on this mountain without the use of firewood is the biggest challenge for hikers and climbers. The true die hards who decide to climb to the summit of Mount Everest pay dearly for the trip, some with their lives, but others with their money for the tour itself, and for the outfitting charges that the climb to the top involves.
Other tours are not so expensive, and do not involve going to the top of Mount Everest. There are hiking tours, cycling tours, and jeep tours on Mount Everest. These tours are not nearly as grueling as summiting the mountain, and would be good for people who are curious about seeing Mount Everest but have no inclination to set foot above the tree line. The mountain is stunningly beautiful in the summer at the lower elevations.
