An Adventure Quest Teaches Self Reliance |

Going on an adventure quest this summer could be one of the most memorable vacations that you ever experience. There is nothing quite like an adventure quest to thrill and challenge yourself in the great outdoors. Whether it's white water rafting, mountain climbing, canoing in the wilderness, or sky diving, an adventure quest is one way to prove to yourself that you can cut the mustard on your own two feet and survive. Before I got too wrapped up in my career, I used to go backpacking at least once a month with a friend or two, and we would hike in rugged mountains and brutal deserts where we carried all our own food and water, slept on the ground without tents, and had to rely on ourselves to get from Point A to Point B without the benefit of cell phones, drinking fountains, or room service. It was fantastic exercise, and even better mental therapy. Learning such self sufficiency was an exercise in learning complete independence, forward thinking, and optimism in the face of difficulties. |
