White water rafting--what a ride! It's unlike anything most people ever do.

Does it require courage? Yes. Does it require some level of strength? Yes, you'll need some strength to paddle, to push off, or to hang on to the chicken line (Some white water rafting experiences don't require you to do any paddling or pushing off, but a chicken line is pretty much a necessity. What's a chicken line? A piece of rope that runs the perimeter of the white water rafting raft, a rope that you attach a death grip to so you don't get tossed out of the boat as it bucks and kicks its way down the river!)

Is it fun? Absolutely. You'll get to cruise down majestic rivers running rapids. Additionally, you'll be exposed to beautiful, often rugged, scenery. There's a good chance you'll see wildlife. As well, you'll most likely be with friends, but you'll also make new friends as you'll be close boat-mates for at least several hours, maybe longer if you take a day trip.

Furthermore, most white water rafting tours include a delicious lunch, one strategically timed to take place along some lazy, scenic stretch of river where the boat will beach on a nice, secluded river bend--and then, the barbecue begins!

So, if you've never been white water rafting, get off the couch and get out of the house--you really are missing out.
