Winter is rolling around the corner, probably sooner than most of us would like. I say most of us because that excludes the people who live in hot summer climates that have mild winter temperatures. When the snow starts blowing in the northern states, some people plan an adventure quest in those places that have beautiful scenery where winters are nice, notably Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. There are some incredible places to have an adventure quest in these states. In Arizona, there is the Grand Canyon, Superstition Wilderness, Sabino Canyon, all of which are spectacular for an adventure quest by exploring them on foot.
New Mexico has some spectacular scenery that can be enjoyed in the winter, as well. The northern parts of the state are primarily mountainous, where snow keeps one from enjoying an adventure quest there, but the southern parts of the state offer interesting hiking. Surprisingly, Nevada has some great places for an adventure quest just outside of Las Vegas. You can hike in the gorgeous mountain preserves surrounding Las Vegas, or set out for a backpacking trip, and skip the glitz and glamor altogether. |
