Summer is drawing to a close in the Northern Hemisphere, but that's no reason to give up planning for your next adventure quest during the fall or winter months. You might even consider adventure quest where you go camping in the dead of winter. Winter camping is truly an adventure quest because it takes a lot of energy to stay warm, negotiate the snow if you decide to do a little hiking or skiing, and get your campfire going. One thing about winter camping is that you will probably not forget your trip very soon. And it definitely gives you something to talk about are on the water cooler. Winter camping is not the sort of adventure quest you want to bring your young children on simply because it takes so much energy to keep them warm. And little children don't know what to tell you when they are starting to become overly chilled. Just as in the summertime on a really hot day you have to pay close attention to how they look and how they behave to anticipate how hot they are, you have to do the same when children are exposed to cold temperatures for a long period of time. But that's no reason to put off a wintertime adventure quest. You can leave the kids with grandma and grandpa and go out and have a camping trip that will bring you years of good memories. |
