Long Adventure Quests Can Take People Across a Country on Foot |

My friends are on an adventure quest this summer backpacking in Sweden. It's something that I have always wanted to do, since my heritage is Swedish. I am getting email occasionally from them when they get to a small town that has a library where they can access the Internet. Every summer they go on an adventure quest in different parts of the world. When they get back, they have a big Halloween party where at least 100 people show up. They print the best of the 1,000's of pictures they take on their adventure quest and display them on the dining room table under a huge piece of heavy tempered glass. Their stories about their adventure quest are always fascinating. The trip I personally have learned the most from was their summer in Tibet where they taught English to children in a remote mountain village. It was fascinating to hear about the culture and the food habits of people half a world away, and how they have maintained friendships they made with people who live very different lives. Adventure travel is certainly a good way to enrich one's life and share stories with others. |
