When I think of "adventure quest" I imagine my old RPG days when I used to be heavily into the old Dragons and Dungeons style role playing games. Those were the days when my mind could imagine anything and, along with good friends, we could embark on a fantasy adventure quest just from our living room. It was so much fun and so entrenching for young kids.
Today life is a little different. There are no dragons or dungeons, but adventure in the world is still possible without all of that. The world is so big and every part of it has something to explore. Often times what makes an adventure quest is not the risk or the fantastical things involved but rather the attitude of the people embarking on it. A true quest sheds light on the self or, if done with good friends, can help to strengthen bonds by experiencing the unknown together and gaining new insights into the group dynamic and how people behave when faced with a lack of the things they have come to depend on.
