What it Takes to Conquer Mount Everest

Sitting at a pub table in a local neighborhood hotspot, my friend of 28 out of nowhere told me he had signed up to go climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. This is coming from a person who has never been rock climbing in his life outside of a park. Someone I’ve only seen within the urban jungle landscape. That floored me. He had contacted a friend associated with adventure travels and the date was set for late in April. Before he’d secured a sport to Kilimanjaro, he called adventure tours for climbing Mount Everest. I laughed when he told me this.

I’m sure the person on the other end did too when he told them he had never climbed any of the required peaks to conquer Mount Everest. This is the tallest place on earth. My buddy even with his latter decision is biting off more then he can chew. He’s an active guy but this came out of nowhere. God willing he comes back with a story of a lifetime and some great photos come Spring time. You can’t knock a guy for getting an idea and going for it.

Before last summer, I would have never thought that I would ever have my dream come true. I could not believe my ears when my professor told me that he was taking three of his students to work in Egypt over the summer, and I was one of them! My Egypt tours adventure was finally coming true.

That day after school, I ran home to call all of my friends and family members back home. As soon as I had told everyone who loves me what was going on, I began to pack. There were so many things that I needed to take with me on my tours adventure, I did not even know where to start. Eventually I was able to get everything in order, I was finally ready to take my Egypt tours adventure.

I learned so many things while on my trip. I was so pleased that we saw everything from the desert, archaeological spots and local customs. Walking through the colorful markets was certainly my favorite thing about this amazing adventure. I really hope that I get to go back someday.

My favorite thing to do is find beautiful locations to rock climbing. Last summer I went on an adventure just to go climbing. I was lucky enough to find a few friends who wanted to go on an adventure quest with me.

Even though several of my friends sis not want to climb, they easily found many other things to do while I was on the rock face. We all had an amazing time on our adventure together, we really bonded in the beauty of nature. There were so many things that made our trip amazing, I felt so centered and meditative while we were on our trip.

Waking up and doing yoga in the sunrise, eating all natural foods and drinking clean mountain water were just a few perks of our adventure quest. I know that we all felt amazing when we arrived home from our trip, and we are all excited for our next adventure that we will have together.

She told me she came close to pretending to get sick so she could back out of it, but her friends wouldn’t believe her anyway. She said as soon as they hit the first big rapid, she was hooked. She said that it was such an adrenaline rush and the drops while white water rafting were so exciting. She was ready to take another trip later that summer. She wants me to come along next time when I go and visit her this summer. Now, that the shoe is on the other foot, I am not sure myself. If we start on a easy to moderate white water rafting trip, I am in. It does look like great fun and sometimes you just gotta do it.

Those were the days when my mind could imagine anything and, along with good friends, we could embark on a fantasy adventure quest just from our living room. It was so much fun and so entrenching for young kids.

Today life is a little different. There are no dragons or dungeons, but adventure in the world is still possible without all of that. The world is so big and every part of it has something to explore. Often times what makes an adventure quest is not the risk or the fantastical things involved but rather the attitude of the people embarking on it. A true quest sheds light on the self or, if done with good friends, can help to strengthen bonds by experiencing the unknown together and gaining new insights into the group dynamic and how people behave when faced with a lack of the things they have come to depend on.

I had always dreamed of traveling to Mount Everest to go white water rafting and this year wanted to make my dreams true. I had just enough vacation time and had saved money for nine months to take the trip of a lifetime. Now, I just had to go online and research various tours adventure sites to plan my trip and purchase my tickets.

I was now on an adventure quest and must admit just looking at the pictures of Mount Everest was exciting. I visited various websites and found a vacation package that not only included my airfare and hotel but offered white water rafting in Nepal, and even sky diving! I booked my trip then and there. I leave in a month and the anticipation so unbelievable. I'm feeling like a child who can't wait for Santa to arrive so to ease the wait I created a calendar for my refrigerator and I have been putting an X on each day that passes. In fact, I am so excited about this trip that I will admit I've already packed my bags, have a huge smile on my face and one foot already out the door!

I certainly do. One of the biggest goals I have had since I was a child is to go sky diving. It was something that I wanted to do on my twenty-first birthday, and fortunately. I got the chance to d it.
My cousin, Dori, and I had been talking about sky diving together ever since we were little. It was one of her big dreams as well. We agreed that when we were both twenty-one years old, we would go sky diving together. Dori was one year older than me, so once she turned twenty-one she still had to wait a whole year for me to be old enough. Finally, though, my big birthday arrived, and we were still more excited about the idea than ever. We went to California to do it, as both of our families had said that they did not want notice. My mom said she would be too nervous if she knew that I was going to be doing it, so she preferred to be notified after I had landed safely back on the ground. Therefore, we didn't tell anyone. We simply arranged everything ourselves and went through with it.
Sky diving with my cousin for my twenty-first birthday was the thrill of my life. I was so happy to have achieved my dream!

I finally had the opportunity to go sky diving last year and what a blast! So I was hoping this rafting trip would surpass that. We were going on a seven day trip that covered 160 miles of calm water to class 4 and 5 rapids. I was totally stoked and could not wait for the time to come. There are about 12 of us going, plus two guides so we should be alright. I had my pack ready for a month before we left, I was very antsy to get going to say the least.

I must say it was everything that I hoped for. The weather was beautiful and the water was low so the rapids were not as bad as they could have been. We still were turned over a few times, and after that I don't want to ever be on that river when it is full and rushing. Our guide said that we only hit class 3 and maybe class 4 rapids on the trip. If that is the case then wow! I had a blast and I would definitely recommend trying it if you have ever thought about white water rafting. Maybe next year I will try to climb Mount Everest. Maybe not.

Hopefully, in the future I will experience new travels through some tours adventure. There are so many tours adventures that I would be interested in. I have always wanted to see the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx in Egypt. That part of the world has fascinated me for a long time. I have read that many tours adventure will plan a camel or donkey ride through many famous areas of Egypt. That is a great adventure in itself. Another adventure quest of mine is to go on a safari in East Africa. Can you imagine seeing and watching all those beautiful and exotic animals in their own territory? I need to save big time, if I want to experience any one of my dream adventure quests. I know searching for all these tours adventure dreams can be found online and at great tour prices. I may have to wait for awhile to take one of these trips, but in the meantime, I can read and become very knowledgeable of these areas online.

I honestly take my hat off to those who even try and fail. It has to be an incredible accomplishment to even think one is capable of an ascent up any part of Mount Everest. I've read books about it and watched almost all the movies about going up the summit of Mount Everest.

The highest I've ever hiked is 12,500 feet and that was a struggle. We started at 8,000 feet, and for a day hike, that's quite a bit of elevation gain for someone who lives at 1,500 feet. I remember how it was like lifting concrete blocks for legs as we approached the summit. I can only imagine what it would be like to climb Mount Everest. One of the biggest challenges for me if I were ever to try climbing this mountain would be the weeks of living at the base camp before summiting, although every day would be a challenge in those freezing temperatures and all that gear on. I know I'll never get to Mount Everest, but I have nothing but the highest regard for those who even attempt it.

I have always wanted the rush that seems to come from jumping out of an airplane and free falling. It scares the living heck out of me at the same time. I am learning now to do a tandem jump. My target jump date is in two weeks. I can hardly wait!

My boyfriend and I are on list for white water rafting. Another item on my mental list of ideas of things I must do in my lifetime! We are extremely excited because our trip is coming up right after the New Year. We are already getting things together. This white water rafting trip will last an entire week, so there is a bit a preparation to be made. Can't wait!

Sky Diving with a Wingsuit

I have never gone sky diving before but it is on my things to list before kicking the bucket. The sky diving video below is in one word spectacular. These are not ordinary jumpers. They base jump with a wing suit and fly at 100 MPH along beautiful rock faces. Obviously, you have to be a certified skydiver to even consider base jumping but who can say they actually flew through the air without a plane. One wrong move and these guys are bug splatter on the rock face. Talk about trusting your equipment.

A handful of my friends went skyd iving about a year ago in Arizona and had a fantastic time. They both said the initial jump out of the plane is the scariest part. As another sky diving tip they said to try and get an instructor who is easy to talk to because there is a good few minutes after the shoot deploys, the buzzing of wind slows down and it is pretty quiet. At this point, some small talk is with the instructor attached to your back. You can see how quick it could get semi- awkward. If it were up to me, I would go solo after going through a class to figure everything out. Any way sky diving is cut though it looks life changing.

So This is Why People Climb Mount Everest

<img title="Mount Everest" height="118" alt="mount everest" Everest" src="http://admin.moguling.com/Upload/adventuretravels360.com/223648_ama_dablam_3.jpg" width="171" /> The closet I have ever been to mountain climbing is forging up the side of a mountain on a hiking trail. While I have gone pretty high up there, it is nothing compared to actual mountain climbers who use hooks, ropes and carabineers to traverse rock faces. It never seemed like something I really wanted to try but after watching the summit view from Mount Everest video below I completely understand why people risk life and frozen limb to conquer the world’s tallest peak. Talk about conquering a summit unlike anything else on the planet.

What blows my mind about this Mount Everest video is they are at such an elevation that it almost looks like you can see the curvature of the earth. For some I think that is reason to do something so dangerous. Seeing the world from so high really must put life into perspective. The brave climbers who took this video were literally the highest people not in an airplane in the world at that moment. There are only hand full of people who can say they climbed Mount Everest and by the looks of this video it makes sense why.

Adventure Quest Helps Keep Spouses Close Together

<img title="adventure quest" border="0" hspace="0" alt="adventure quest, white water rafting" quest, white water rafting" src="http://admin.moguling.com/Upload/adventuretravels360.com/Mount%20Everest.JPG" width="374" height="255" quest?="" rafting="" water="" white="" quest,="" rafting?="" />
As soon as I saw the words "adventure quest", I thought of a book that I have read about a husband and wife team who went on white water rafting adventures together. One of the things that they mentioned in writing was how an adventure quest with your spouse can bring you closer together as a couple, since you are dependent on one another to get through it as a team.
While my husband loves the idea of a white water rafting trip, I am a little leary of it. I would probably drown. However, that fear doesn't keep us from going on adventure quests together. There are other things that we find to do that draw us close together and give us time to rely on each other and build trust.
One of those recent adventure quests was spent hiking. What made it an adventure quest is the fact that my husband is afraid of nothing when it comes to being out in nature. I, on the other hand, get a little nervous when facing a mountain. Especially one with a smooth rock face. The quest? Getting to the top without sliding back down or dying in the attempt. It took me a little while, but with my husband staying behind me to catch me if I fell, I conquered that mountain and thoroughly enjoyed the views from the top. I also gained some more and much needed trust in him. Adventure quests improving relationships? I'm all for them. Maybe someday we'll try Mount Everest!

My Sky Diving Trip is Finally Planned

<img align="left" title="sky diving" border="0" hspace="0" alt="sky diving" diving" src="http://admin.moguling.com/Upload/adventuretravels360.com/sky%20diving13214976.jpg" width="100" height="63" />I have been waiting my whole life to go sky diving, and now I finally have a great plan in force that will assure that I finally get to drop from the sky at 10,000 feet, rushing towards the ground. I was looking around online, and there are actually sky diving schools in Northern Arizona that teach you how to dive properly so that you don’t have to do tandem sky diving with an instructor strapped to your back. For me, the greatest rush as possible is what I am looking for with my sky diving experience. So over the cooler October months, I will be heading out to Sedona and taking a few courses in sky diving so that I can enjoy sky diving like I have envisioned in my dreams. While I must admit that I am a bit nervous to jump out of an airplane that is traveling at several hundred miles per hour, high above the ground, I plan on video taping the entire experience with my wife and I, so that I can keep my sky diving adventure on film forever, and show my friends when I return back to my home.
